** Release 1.1 updates the problems with qq displayed as ?? in syllabics and any variation of qqa, qqu, qqi etc.
PUBLISHER'S DESCRIPTION
Inuktitut Pad is designed to make typing in syllabics easy and fast. You no longer need a keyboard layout, or stickers to paste on your keyboard. What you type is the actual Inuktitut letters and the syllabic conversion from Roman Orthography is instant.
You can then copy and paste your work into other programs such as Microsoft or Open Office. You can even type Inuktitut Roman Orthography with letters not in the syllabics, such as Ovanga, (Me in English) and it will correct it by converting the transliterated syllabics to roman as, uvanga.
It will work two ways, transliterate roman into syllabics, and then transliterate the correct spelling back into roman from the syllabics.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
You can type in real time from Roman Orthography into Inuktitut Syllabics. The program is similar to note pad.
You can start by, typing in the top window, in Roman Orthography, you will notice that what you type, is exactly what the syllabic letter would be in the bottom window.
After you type your work, you can highlight the text in either box and copy and paste into other documents, and then you can add all the fancy bolding or re-sizing etc.
The top window, is for the orthography, it will convert to syllabics in the bottom window. You can almost type in any kind of orthography, it will always convert to syllabics as best as it can.
After each word, you must either click 'enter' or the 'space bar' to finalize the last letter, ortherwise it will wait for you to continue with the word.
Even if you spell qanuitpisi with odd letters not in the syllabic alphabet, it will try it's best to revert back to the proper orthography, simply move your mouse to the bottom window and then hit 'space bar' or 'enter' and then the proper conversion of the syllabics will display in the top window!
You no longer need to download any keyboard layouts, or memorize stickers on your keyboard, you type as you would in roman and it displays in inuktitut! You no longer need to get a utility that only works in microsoft office, if you don't have office, you can copy all work and paste into open office or any other type of word processor!
You can also save your work and open it later on. The file types depend on how you would like to save your work. Roman Orthography can be saved as an .inui file or .atii file and your syllabics can be saved as a .inuk file or .atii file!
You can also open the file as one of the standard formats provided when you saved your work.
Right click on either window, to save your work, or open your work. Plus, you can do all sorts of other features, like redo, undo, copy, paste etc.
If you encounter any problems with the program please let us know at atii-go and we will work to make sure that you can do your transliterations.
